| At the conclusion of this Spinal Cord Injury presentation, the participant should be able to: * Have a basic understanding of Spinal Cord Injuries. * Describe how a Spinal Cord Injury changes normal bodily functions and activities of daily living. * Name three important things taught to patients and families during rehabilitation. * Develop an understanding of Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation, goal setting, and the team approach to Spinal Cord Injury treatment. |
At the conclusion of this Cleft Lip and Palate presentation, the participant should be able to: * Have a basic understanding of the surgical needs of children and youth that are born with clefts and other craniofacial conditions. *Explain why children with clefts may need speech surgery and orthodontic care. * Have a basic understanding of the psychosocial needs of children and youth with clefts and craniofacial conditions. * Understand the medical and psychosocial needs of young adults with clefts & craniofacial conditions as they transition to adulthood. * Explain what Team care is and why it is a "best practices" model of care. |
